Choctaw Diamond Earrings - hand painted
Item:
JC-017A-DIA
Diamonds, Snakes, and Spirals are common Choctaw Designs. Historically corn farmers the Choctaw respect and honor the rattlesnakes because they eliminate rodents from the fields. We even have a rattlesnake dance. The Diamond designs feature prominently on the ceremonial clothing, pottery, beadwork and other art. The snakes and spirals are derived from ancient moundbuilder designs and also feature prominently in Choctaw art.
These earrings feature a hand carved, hand painted diamond design on porcelain. They are hand painted with underglazes.
The red ones are highlighted with 24k gold edges.
They are on sterling silver earwires
