Imp - Glazed Bottle Stopper

This Imp will brighten up your next dinner party and keep your wine securely stoppered.  He can also hang out on a shelf in a bottle as a purely decorative piece between parties.  He is a sort of 3-D characature known as a grotesque.  These sort of exaggerated faces were originally found on bottles and some were most ugly and scary which is probably how they got their grotesque moniker.  I find them to be fun and something that will bring a smile to your face and be a great conversation starter.  I hope you will agree.

He is hand sculpted from earthenware clay, hand painted with underglazes then fired, glazed and fired again.   He is fitted with a silicone rubber fitting which is glued on the bottom with epoxy to securely stopper your bottle.
