Otter Effigy Canteen

This is not a reproduction of any known artifact.  It is, however, made in the style of the Mississippian Period effigy bottles. 

Size:5 inches (135mm) long 3.5 inches (90) wide  2 5/8 inches (70mm) tall

Materials and Techniques:This bottle was entirely hand built from hand dug native clay using the coiling method and hand burninshed with a rock.  It was then traditionally fired outdoors in a wood fire which was incompletely smothered creating the lovely colors.
