Underwater Panther Effigy Bowl

This small effigy bowl features an underwater panther, a mythical being from the underworld in the  tri world scheme.  This bowl was hand built from native clay and traditionally fired in a wood fire.  The fire was then smothered resulting in the black coloring.  This bowl also has a gift of the fire, a fire cloud on one side where the coloring is not quite totally black.  The rest of the bowl has the very interesting metallic look that this native clay gets in reduction firing.
