Serpent Bowl - Black

SERP-BOWL-1
This bowl is similar to several serpent, bird and duck bowls that have been found in many of the mounds of the Central Mississippi Valley. This original artifact this bowl was fashioned after was carved in stone. It is considered to be a Serpent bowl or perhaps a mythical creature that is a combination bird and serpent based on the crest that it has on the top of its head and neck.
Size:
6in tall to top of crest 8in nose to tail 5.75in diameter
Materials and Techniques:
This pot is hand built from Native Hand Dug Clay, hand burnished, wood fired and smothered to blacken it.
