Serpent Bowl - Miniature
This tiny bowl is similar to several serpent, bird and duck bowls that have been found in many of the mounds of the Central Mississippi Valley. This original artifact this bowl was fashioned after was carved in stone. It is considered to be a Serpent bowl or perhaps a mythical creature that is a combination bird and serpent based on the crest that it has on the top of its head and neck. This particular bowl is smaller than the original mound builder pieces. It is suitable for use in a 1 inch to the foot scale miniature setting. It comes with a small certificate that tells a little about the ancient pieces and that certifies that it is made by a registered Oklahoma Choctaw Artist.
Size:
1 inch to the top of the head 3/4 inch diameter
Materials and Techniques:
This pot is hand built from terracotta, hand burnished and kiln fired.
