Human Face Effigy Pipe This pipe is similar to several pipes that were found in the mounds of the Central Mississippi Valley.  It is thought to represent a hero character.  Pipes were made from both ceramic and carved in stone.  The original that this pipe was fashioned after was carved in stone.

Size: 4 1/2 inches long Bowl is 2 1/8 inches tall by 1 3/4 inch diameter.

Materials and Techniques:  This pipe was hand built from red stoneware and kiln fired to over 2000 degrees.  It was then sanded to a smooth satiny surface.
