The pottery in this category has been decorated primarily by painting a design on the surface.  Most are painted with commercially available underglazes as they provide for brighter colors and are more reliable.  Some, however, are painted with mineral paints which I have made and which are typical of what might have been found on an ancient artifact.  The descriptions of the individual pieces will tell you which one has been used.
